Poor Medicine practise in Africa

Some Studies from the BMC Public Health Journal has been published showing the poor prescription practise in the African region and among pharmacies.

WHO is urging the African region to improve on their prescriber training, strengthening the health systems and diagnostic tools.

The results from the study show that more than half of the prescriptions are for antibiotics and some for injections. Generic prescribing has increased slightly in the period 2006-2015 when compared to 1995-2005,the overall prescribing indicators do not seem to have changed much over the last two decades.

AHPN always encourages good medical practise especially within many communities and countries with the policy makers for a routine monitoring of medicine use.
