AHPN is proud to be involved in the development and building of African Mentoring Initiative (AMI). AMI is a mentoring initiative organised for African men and women living with HIV in the UK. According to recent activities and involvement with African people living HIV in the UK, AHPN has observed that emotional, psychological and practical support from peers and colleagues is what most African people living with HIV yearn for.
In order to be fully prepared for AMI, AHPN is therefore committed to training AMI mentors. Africans living with HIV with peer support and mentoring experience are encouraged to volunteer for the training. Due to the intensity of the training, every AMI mentor will be expected to attend and successfully complete a two day training session.
