    Assistant Bid Writer (Commission-Based)

    We’re looking for a motivated Assistant Bid Writer to help AHPN secure funding to tackle health inequalities affecting Black communities across the UK.

    This flexible, commission-based role is  ideal for someone with strong writing skills, an eye for funding opportunities and a passion for social impact.

    You’ll support us to:

    • Identify suitable grants and funding opportunities

    • Draft compelling funding applications

    • Align bids with our strategic priorities

    • Secure sustainable funding to grow our impact

    Ideal candidate:

    • Experience in bid writing or fundraising

    • Strong written communication skills

    • Ability to meet deadlines and work collaboratively

    • Interest in health equity and community-led work

    Commission paid on successful bids secured.

    Public Health Intern

    Remote / London-based opportunities
    Part-time | Flexible | 3-6 months

    Are you completing a Masters in Public Health and looking to apply your research and writing skills to real-world impact?

    African Health Policy Network (AHPN) is offering internship opportunities for motivated Public Health postgraduate students who are passionate about tackling health inequalities and shaping policy change.

    AHPN is a Black-led organisation working to improve health outcomes for African and Caribbean communities across the UK. We lead programmes in HIV prevention and testing, Ro Blood, Windrush, cultural competency, patient advocacy, research, and community engagement.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    • Contributing to funding proposals and project reports

    • Supporting monitoring & evaluation frameworks

    • Assisting with policy briefings and consultation responses

    • Helping translate research into accessible community-facing resources

    You will contribute to work that informs national strategies and influences health systems.

    We’re Looking For

    • Current or recent Public Health Master’s student

    • Strong research, analysis and academic writing skills

    • Understanding of health inequalities and social determinants of health

    • Interest in community-led and culturally competent public health

    Experience in HIV, sexual health, health policy or community engagement is a bonus but not essential.

    What You’ll Gain
